Runway Show

Runway Shows, they are filled with excitement, stress and people who are eager to be part of the fashion industry.  I am a freshman in college in the major Fashion Merchandising who got the opportunity to be part of a runway show. Although I am not a designer and I am more interested in the merchandising part I got the opportunity to create a design and bring it to life. In this show designers had to create any garment they'd like but it had to be made of recycled items. This project for the runway was introduced to me since October and since then I began the journey of my dress. 

My dress was made of magazines, coke tops and news paper. I began making flowers since October in between classes and my personal life. I have never done any kind of project like this before and I am actually very proud of accomplishing this. I never thought I would be capable of creating a design from scratch and bring it to life. This dress took hard work, from tracing petals on to magazines, to gluing the flowers together. It was an amazing feeling being able to see my design on a model walking it down the runway, where my dress received so many compliments. Through this journey I learned so much not only how to bring flowers together but how I should believe in myself and accomplish what I set my mind to. I believe everyone is capable of  accomplishing their dreams and to even go out of their comfort zone. An example is this, I am not a designer, never thought of being one I just wanted to manage and create runway shows for the designers and here I am with my new creation. I was excited to share this experience with you guys because I hope it could inspire you in some way and to let you know that anything is possible.
